The Democratic Socialists of America is the largest socialist organization in American history, with over 100,000 members and chapters in all 50 states.
As member-run organization, dues are the backbone of our national and local operations. We encourage Bloomington DSA members to pay both national and local dues.
To be a member of the Bloomington, Indiana chapter of DSA, you must pay national DSA dues or apply for a dues waiver.
This places you on our official member list, allows you to vote on chapter business, join National DSA workshops and events, and is a requirement for leadership positions in the chapter.
Support Bloomington DSA with Local Dues
To build socialism here in Bloomington, Bloomington DSA uses voluntary Local Dues. Local dues are optional, but help us build a stronger chapter.
Local dues fund the mission of the chapter day-to-day: helping us afford meeting space, rent equipment, purchase materials, and, eventually, afford a brick-and-mortar office.
When you pay monthly National DSA Dues, 20% goes towards Bloomington DSA, and 80% goes towards the national project. By paying local dues, we can make sure we have a solid income stream to build socialism here in southern Indiana.
